Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 8 August 2026

These terms cover your use of RealUnitTool at realunittool.com. Using the site means you accept them. They are short because the service is simple: it is a free reference tool, it asks nothing of you, and it holds nothing of yours.

Using the site

You may use RealUnitTool for anything you like, personal or commercial, at no cost and without permission or attribution. There is no account to register and no limit on how much you convert. The results themselves are facts about units of measurement and we claim no ownership of them — use them freely in your own work.

We ask only that you do not attempt to disrupt the service or the infrastructure serving it, and that any automated retrieval stays reasonable in volume.

Accuracy, and its limits

Considerable care goes into getting the numbers right. Conversion factors are derived from published SI definitions rather than copied from other sources, every category publishes the factor table it uses so results can be checked independently, and an automated test suite verifies the engine against known reference values on every change.

Even so, the site is provided for reference and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision where an error would be costly or dangerous — including medical dosing, structural or safety engineering, aviation and marine navigation, financial reporting, and legal or regulatory compliance. For work of that kind, verify against the authoritative standard for your field. Results are also rounded for display, so a value read off the screen may differ in its final digits from one carried through at full precision.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage — including indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or loss of profit, revenue or data — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or anything obtained from it. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case this limitation applies only as far as that jurisdiction permits, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Privacy

The site holds no personal data about you and never receives the values you convert. It does use Google Analytics to count page views, which sets cookies. The privacy policy sets out exactly what that means and forms part of these terms.

Availability and changes

The site is offered free of charge and may be changed, interrupted or withdrawn at any time without notice. These terms may also change; the date at the top of the page records when they last did, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised version.
