How land is measured in Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu has a unit of its own for city land: the ground, 2,400 ft², which is what Chennai plots are sold in and works out at a shade over five and a half cent. Rural land is measured in cent, a hundredth of an acre. Neither has a regional variant — both are fixed fractions of an acre — so a Tamil Nadu figure means the same thing across the state.
